Assembly Republicans’ top viral video captures NJ resident sentiments and disapproving Dems

TRENTON, N.J. – It’s racked up more views than a preview of the Real Housewives of New Jersey’s latest season and even a live Bon Jovi concert. Much of the success of the Assembly Republican’s top viral video is owed to a New Jersey resident truth bombing members of the Assembly Appropriations Committee and the response from Democrats.

“Just a few years ago, the gas in this state was $1.98. I have a picture of it. Then, all of a sudden, it skyrocketed and it has never come down,” Michael Archon of WakeUpNJ told committee members as they heard testimony on a bill (A4011) to raise the gas tax.

But, it was Archon’s next statement about New Jersey being the unhappiest state in the nation and the exorbitant cost to maintain roads that riled up Assemblywoman Pamela Lampitt. When she challenged Archon, he brought the receipts, cited his research and defended his position. Her attempt to put Archon in the hot seat backfired, and the Assembly Republicans were there to capture her disdain on camera.

To date, the video has received more than 316,000 views and is responsible for growing the channel’s 3,100 subscribers to 3,612. The ‘people vs. politicians’ content is the best performing upload in the channel’s nearly 16 year history.
