TRENTON, N.J. – You first have to get your facts straight if you’re going to conjure Daniel Patrick Moynihan, who famously remarked that people are entitled to their own opinions but not their own facts.
Assembly Democrat John McKeon chastised Assemblyman Hal Wirths for saying Gov. Phil Murphy supported the defund the police movement during Monday’s Assembly Budget Committee hearing with Attorney General-designate Matt Platkin.
Except, in fact, Wirths didn’t.
“If you’re going to quote me on it, quote it accurately,” Wirths retorted.
