Tech group names DePhillips 2020 Legislative Champion of the Year

Christopher P. DePhillips

TRENTON, N.J. – Assemblyman Christopher DePhillips is TechUnited:NJ’s 2020 Legislative Champion of the Year for his state-level leadership supporting the technology community.

A member of the Science, Innovation and Technology Committee, DePhillips has successfully drafted, sponsored and assisted in passing policies to advance the use of technology in New Jersey.

“I’m honored to be recognized for my commitment to supporting the high-tech innovation economy in New Jersey,” said DePhillips (R-Bergen). “Not only do we need to embrace technology in order to remain relevant, but we must also continue to put forth policies that demonstrate our leadership in innovation so that the next generation has the tools to take us into the future, grow jobs and bring economic prosperity to the state.”

DePhillips, of Wyckoff, has served in the Assembly since 2018. He is also vice-president and general counsel of Porzio Life Sciences, LLC, a consulting and systems company that assists pharmaceutical, medical device and biotechnology companies with regulatory and compliance challenges related to sales, marketing and strategic business operations.

The award honors a leader in the state’s congressional delegation or state government who has helped develop significant legislation resulting in a positive effect for the New Jersey tech community.

In 2019, the NJ Tech Council acquired Propelify and rebranded as TechUnited:NJ. The organization serves the technology and life science companies of the state and region with a host of educational events and programs, networking opportunities and recognition celebrations.
