TRENTON, N.J. – Sen. Gerald Cardinale, Assemblyman Robert Auth and Assemblywoman Holly Schepisi released the following joint statement regarding the violence in Washington on Wednesday:

“America was built upon both the right of our citizens to peacefully protest and the need for the democratic process to peacefully unfold. The violence seen in Washington, D.C., earlier this week violated both of these pillars of America. What happened was wrong and should never happen in a society committed to preserving law and order. Those who committed violent and illegal acts must be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.”
