TRENTON, N.J. – The deadline for residents to secure their REAL ID is just five months away and there are no appointments at the Motor Vehicle Commission. Assembly Republican Leader Jon Bramnick is calling on the commission to fix the problem.
“I continue to hear from constituents who cannot find an available appointment,” said Bramnick. “The federal government will start enforcing REAL ID in a few months and the MVC must ensure all residents who want a new ID are able to get one.”
The federal government extended the deadline to Oct. 1, 2021, giving residents an extra year to obtain the new ID needed to board all flights in the United States.
