SUMMIT, N.J. – Assemblywoman Nancy Munoz seeks to raise awareness about the importance and urgency of donating blood – even during the coronavirus pandemic – by releasing a public service announcement on social media Wednesday.
About a quarter million blood donations were not made because 9,000 blood drives were canceled nationwide over the last couple of weeks during the coronavirus crisis.
However, there are guidelines for who is eligible to donate. You are not eligible to donate if you have a fever, have traveled to any area with a COVID-19 outbreak, live with individuals who have been diagnosed, or are diagnosed positive yourself.
