TRENTON, N.J. – Binding arbitration will be available to settle disciplinary disputes involving non-teaching school district employees under legislation sponsored by Assemblyman Ron Dancer and signed by Gov. Phil Murphy Thursday.
“Arbitration is a proven tool for resolving grievances between teachers and their school district employers,” said Dancer. “Opening the process to non-teaching staff is fair and consistent. School employees don’t have to be teachers to contribute to the educational effectiveness of our schools.”
Non-teaching staff will be able to bring any dispute over disciplinary action to arbitration, including termination or non-renewal, reprimands, and the withholding incremental increases.
