District 21 lawmakers fought for more school funding from the state and won

WESTFIELD, N.J. – Sen. Jon Bramnick and Assemblywomen Nancy Munoz and Michele Matsikioudis, whose district includes parts of Union, Morris and Somerset counties, are happy with increased funding announced Thursday for each school district they represent.

“This is an important moment for schools and property taxpayers in our district,” the three lawmakers said in a statement.  “For years we were underfunded and property taxpayers had to make up the difference.  The funding provided to our schools today will make sure our students receive a world-class education while preventing future hikes in property taxes.”

Bramnick and Munoz supported legislation in 2018 reversing a decade of school funding inequity, which hurt schools in their district facing growing student populations.
