Bramnick to Democrats: Stop prioritizing prisoners over taxpayers

Jon Bramnick

TRENTON, N.J. – Assembly Republican Leader Jon Bramnick blasted Democrats for posting half a dozen inmate bills, but none that provided relief for taxpayers, for votes during the Assembly session Monday.

“The Democrats have their priorities completely backwards. Instead of considering legislation to provide tax relief to our overburdened residents, they post bills that help prisoners,” Bramnick (R-Union) said. “It’s time to put taxpayers first.”

Prisoner reentry assistance, workforce skills training, commutation credits and bans on ICE contracts are among the inmate bills being considered in the Assembly voting session at 1 p.m.
