Bramnick proposes “battle pay” for frontline health workers amid coronavirus

Jon Bramnick

WESTFIELD, N.J. – Assembly Republican Leader Jon Bramnick is calling for insurance companies to support paying frontline health care workers to reflect the hardship and increased danger of their work providing care to patients infected with COVID-19.

“Most procedures have a code that is equivalent to insurance company reimbursement,” said Bramnick (R-Union). “My plan would require insurance companies to add a code when a health care worker is performing services related to COVID-19 patients. This would be in addition to the procedure being performed and provide an additional reimbursement to the healthcare worker.”
