TRENTON, N.J. – Assembly Republican Leader Jon Bramnick thinks Murphy is out of touch with a majority of New Jerseyans, who struggle to afford the state’s high taxes.
“Murphy doesn’t get it,” said Bramnick (R-Union). “He wants to raise taxes and spending again, which is a disaster for the future of New Jersey. Even most Democrats don’t agree with him either.”
A Monmouth poll last year found property taxes were by far the biggest problem for residents, and an NJBIA-Rutgers poll in April found that more than four out of five residents think they pay more in taxes than they get back in services.
“People are fleeing the state because it is too expensive,” continued Bramnick. “More spending and more government isn’t the solution. It’s the problem.”
