TRENTON, N.J. – The death of New Jersey native, Capitol Police Officer Brian D. Sicknick drew condolences from Assemblyman Bob Auth.
“My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends,” said Auth (R-Bergen, Passaic). “Brian put the security of others before his own safety and was an example of selfless service. He will go down in history as a hero.”
Sicknick, a 42-year-old South River native and former member of the New Jersey Air National Guard, suffered head injuries when the mob breached the Capitol Wednesday. His death is being investigated as a homicide, according to reports.
